Reiko GUERIN

J-Talk Producer / Presenter,

Original member of J-Talk since 1997.

The winner of 2004 Radio Adelaide Awards;

Favorite Presenter Award and Best team Program Award.

Musical Actress and singer / Producer by trade,

and belongs to the agency Strada Company in Tokyo

Reiko made her debut on Japanese television at the age of seven. Twelve years later she starred as a prima in Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" for the grand opening of the Seibu Theatre in Shibuya, Tokyo.

In the US Reiko joined the Albano Ballet Company of Connecticut, at the same time as studying in Hartford, CT. She appeared as Mabel in the off-Broadway production of "Little Mary Sunshine".

Back to Tokyo, she joined Follies a musical theatre company, and appeared in several musicals. Among them were "We are No Angels" "Tomorrow" and "Before the Flood". Reiko took the title role of Yuri in "The Magic".

Also she appeared on many TV dramas and shows.

Then she travelled extensively throughout Japan as lead member of the Taku Izumi Singers the group formed by famous modern Japanese composer Taku Izumi.

An active participant in the anti-nuclear movement, she took part in the World Anti-Nuclear Concerts held at the Rose Bowl in L.A. (100, 000 people) and St. Patrick Church in New York.

Turning to production, she was part of the original producing team of the acclaimed musical Utamaro which won the Japanese Government Art Festival Grand Prize. Utamaro went on to become the first ever Japanese musical to tour in the US, including the Kennedy Centre in Washington, DC.

Returning to the stage in Adelaide, Reiko appeared in the Australian premiere of the Marx Brothers comedy "Cocoanuts".

She has been anchoring the radio program-J-Talk on Radio Adelaide for almost 12 years.

Reiko is married to Prof. Bruce Guerin, and they have a daughter, Clare.
