Kyoko KATAYAMA

Presenter

Date of Birth
18 July 19__ (but I thought you only looked 21 not 119)

Birth place
Sanriku town, in Ofunato city, which is situated on the Sanriku Coast National Park in Iwate prefecture

When did I move to Adelaide?
1995, January

Started J-Talk
1997, with Reiko Lee Guerin and others

Why did I join J-Talk team?
The main reason was that, when I heard about it, I thought that being a presenter of a radio show in Australia, would use more English, and that would be perfect for my English practice. However I didn’t expect that J-Talk would continue for such a long time as 12 years.(^―^)

My jobs in J-Talk are:
Writing scripts for show
Finding and Coordinating guests
Interviewing the guests
Researching events information in Adelaide or Australia
Operating the panel = but only when no one is there (^_^),
Why? only when there is no one there, that’s because I am not good at mechanics.
However, I want to do it more often so that my skills will be better.

My current professional job
*Interpreter/Translator
*Tour guide (Australian National qualified driver guide)

My other enjoyment - being a Vice president (n_n)
of the Australia Japan Association of SA (AJASA)
www.ajaofsa.asn.au
AJA is the mother association of J-Talk.
